About our Pastor

Pastor Lance Wilson was born on June 29th ,1974, in Catawba County in North Carolina and was raised in the Lenoir and Hudson areas of Caldwell County. He graduated from South Caldwell High School in 1992. He was raised in church from birth (Gospel Baptist Church in Newton, NC). He trusted Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior of his life at the age of 19. His desire for the Lord and the work of the Lord grew to become his lifestyle. Lance had a calling in his life to serve. His father was killed in an alcohol related shooting before he was born. His dad’s life and death impacted, influenced and inspired him deeply. Growing up without a father and learning how his father died, Lance answered the call to serve in law enforcement. In 1995, he began rookie school (Basic Law Enforcement Training) at Caldwell Community College and Technical Institute in Hudson, NC. Lance started his career at Lenoir Police Department in February of 1996 as a patrol officer. He served at Lenoir and Granite Falls Police Departments before serving at the Caldwell County Sheriff’s Department until 2007, when he joined the North Carolina State Highway Patrol as a State Trooper. He has served there since and will hopefully retire from law enforcement with 30 years of service in late 2026.
Lance continued to go to church throughout the years and beginning in 2004, God began to work on his heart about serving in the ministry and the calling to preach the gospel. He began to get opportunities to speak in various capacities. At this time, he and his wife, Julie, were teaching Sunday School at Green Mountain Baptist Church in Lenoir. At the age of 31, on June 16, 2005, he surrendered his life to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ. Since He was called to preach the Gospel in 2005, he has preached, sang and ministered in numerous churches and other venues (54) in his home county and across the area. He also supplied in the pulpits of local churches. Throughout the years he has also been frequently asked to speak at special services, revivals and camp-meetings.
God continued to do a mighty work in his life. The Lord led Pastor Lance to start several ministries including the following: Green Mountain Nursing Home Ministry (2004), Cops4Christ Ministries (2004), Crosstrain Ministries and Crosstrain Sports Ministries (2016).
Pastor Lance has such a passion for gospel music as well. His stepfather started a ministry (American Gospel Jamboree) which supports Caldwell Hospice and Palliative Care (currently Amorem). Lance teamed up with his stepfather and he became the event emcee. This wonderful southern gospel music ministry raised funds for this amazing organization. Gospel singings were held beginning in 2008 to support the local hospice. A native of Wilkes County, musician and member of the Blue Ridge Music Hall of Fame David Johnson, was an integral part of this ministry.
In addition, in 2006, Pastor Lance also was part of a new southern gospel group which was founded in Lenoir, the All4Him Quartet. He was the lead singer of the group.
In 2025, Pastor Lance founded in Wilkesboro, NC a new southern gospel group call the Willing Vessels Quartet, where he is the lead singer for the group.
Evangelism has always been of upmost importance to Pastor Lance. He grew up under many gospel tents and holds those old-time tent revivals and meetings near and dear to his heart.
Pastor Lance has held tent revivals, crusades, camp-meetings and many special services throughout the years and has had the privilege of seeing hundreds of souls saved since serving in the ministry in 2004.
